You’re probably thinking that I am some sort of narcissist writing about my own net worth in third person.
It’s quite the contrary. I was looking through the search traffic for my blog, and I noticed that I have a lot of type-in traffic where users are simply searching my name. Surprisingly, the top related search keyword in google is “syed balkhi net worth”.
This also explains the recent spike in emails from people asking how much money I make which gets annoying, so I’m hoping this post will also serve as a canned response.
As many of you may know, I am the founder of several very well-reputed online businesses including but not limited to: OptinMonster, WPBeginner, WPForms, MonsterInsights, AIOSEO, and over dozen more.
Collectively my software is used by over 20 million websites and help power billions of dollars in creator earnings each year.
Combine that with my offline businesses and investments, I have everything that I need to live a comfortable life with my wife and family for years to come.
So what is my current net worth? What was my net worth two years ago? or what will be my net worth in five years from now?
I used to ask these questions myself and get really anxious. I would compare my net worth with others and try to create competitions in my head until I realized that these questions are meaningless.
Things change all the time.
Knowing someone’s net worth is NOT going to help you succeed.
However understanding the metrics you use to judge your own net worth will help you set smarter goals which as a result will help you succeed.
I’ve been told by many that “it’s easy to say when you are rich”.
But in reality, we were a happy family when we had little in our bank account, and we’re a happy family now – and for me that’s the most important metric!
At this time, you’re probably thinking that I’m trying to avoid the question: what is Syed Balkhi’s net worth? and to be honest Yes I am.
I’ve always hated income reports because I don’t think they’re productive. They also tend to attract the wrong crowd, in my opinion. And until one of my companies go public, I’ve no interest in sharing any of the finance details that I don’t have to.
If you continue to follow what I have to say based on the merit of my work that I have done, then I appreciate having you, and I look forward to adding tremendous value to your life and business with the lessons that I learn.
If you were here only to learn about my net worth from Google, I’m pretty sure you’re disappointed by not seeing a traditional $$$ value listed here.
However please check out my sites:
OptinMonster – serving over billions of impressions monthly
WPBeginner – the largest free WordPress resource site
WPForms – best online form builder used by over 5 million websites
and all other software companies and investments.
Also if you want me to invest in your business, take a look at WPBeginner Growth Fund.

Well said Syed.
It really does not matter what you are worth. Friends don’t ask friends what they are worth :-).
Living comfortably is all that counts really.

Have you ever considered selling one of your online businesses? Do you have any exit strategy or you just want to run them as long as you can?
I wonder what your thoughts are on this topic and what valuation would make you satisfied.
Cheers!

Syed,
May I suggest you report your net worth as “successful”.
Syed Balkhi
Yup 🙂
Bayu
Actually, I really want to know how anthropology and bussiness online stand together during your career, Syed. Are they relate to each other and give you mix ideas or something like values?

He’s the hero the internet deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A online knight. – Lt. James Gordon
Syed Balkhi
You’re a gentleman 🙂

To me, success isn’t really about how many digits that lay dormant in your bank account but how many smiles you put on faces!
With this belief, i believe you are successful because you did put a smile on my face. Therefore you are not just a successful person but an inspiration.
Syed Balkhi
Totally agreed
Mahesh
Weel said Syed, It really does not matter if your a happy family. The success ratio ain’t always be in terms of monetization. Rather there are other metrics as you have mentioned.
Saad from The Usual Stuff
Hi Syed Balkhi,
Keep up the good work.
You know what, I share your thought of sharing personal income reports gives a wrong kind of message and attracts a wrong kind of crowd and this is the reason that I don’t do this on my blog despite my blog touching topic related to online money making.
Many prominent bloggers do this though. In fact, one blogger I know, his reason of success is that he makes money online by telling people how much money he makes online. But I’m not judging them though.
I want to say, keep up the good work. It’s good to see someone achieving success in his life especially when he hails from my city.
Thank you.
Saad.

Just starting out my financial journey. Yes, you are right a specific number doesn’t matter what matters is financial freedom, your loved ones & the journey. Hopefully, I’ll be a miner myself in no time.

Hey Syed! Thank you for inspiring me, a 17-year-old trying to succeed in this world and in the next.
I agree with your point that the numbers don’t matter.

Im here only because it was brought to google on the podcast you were interviewed on. Now that we got that out of the way lol
I am extremely impressed not with what you’ve accomplished BUT the circumstances you were in compared to your mindset.
I can relate very well as i moved here in 2000 and I used to say to myself, let me be comfortable being able to communicate in english and rest o the path to success will be easy. Language barrier was the only barrier in my head and was I wrong, absolutely!
Ever thought about creating a match maker website where people get matched with the right mentor? Not trying to provide an easy way out for up coming millionaires BUT wouldn’t it be nice to have accesses to credible source of knowledge based on your field versus listening to multiple youtubers flashing their “Net Worth”?
